Friends Of Life

Yog Teachers Network

We welcome all UK based Patanjali Yog Peeth Teachers of Divya Yog (Divine Yoga) to join us in this Independent Network of Divya Yog Teachers so as to create a professional forum of practitioners and to try and achieve consistency in deliverance. We will collectively share our knowledge and practices and thereby keep abreast of all latest developments. In order to spread this Yog throughout the UK and various institutions we need to gain a credible standing, hence it is essential we share good/best practice. This will give us a unified and consistent approach to teaching. Furthermore, we can assist each other wherever and whenever we hold Yog camps/sessions throughout the UK.

If you are interested in joining the Divya Yog Teachers Network then please send us your current photograph by email, as well as your full contact details and a short summary (biography) of yourself and why you decided to teach Swami Ramdev Ji's Yog. We will then add your details to our website and assist you in all ways that we can so that you can commence teaching publicly as soon as possible. We will then invite you to visit us in Slough to see how we conduct classes here and liaise with you thereafter. We will provide you with information and details of our Yog Teachers Network Package. Please contact our FoL Network Co-ordinator, Kinnari, via email on Kinnari@friendsoflife.org

Kinnari M Devani

In about 2002 I completed the basic Art of Living (Sri Sri Ravi Shankar) programme and used to do the "Sudarshan Kriya" and really enjoyed doing it.

In the Summer of 2005 my in-laws brought Swami Ramdevji's dvd from which I tried to learn the pranayam for a couple of minor health issues.  I was not very comfortable with it, but then I found out about Aastha channel and started waking up early to watch it.  I was mesmerised and taken back by Swamiji's "niswarth" (without personal gain) vision which touched my heart as I have similar thinking - "help others to live healthy without expecting monetary return".

After doing the pranayam for about a month or so I realised I was not doing something right and stopped.  One day I saw on TV that Swamiji was coming to the UK and was going to be in a local venue, in Harrow, and without wasting any time I quickly bought the £300 ticket thinking that I will get to learn from the best volunteers (as seen on TV). However, to my surprise there were no volunteers teaching on the first day or on any day.  Except that, on my second day I noticed Ajay voluntarily teaching of his own accord to someone. I approached him and before I knew it I started going to Slough along with my husband and my mother-in-law, to attend Ajay's Yog classes, both of whom have never followed anyone in their life and they had become Ajay's fans.

I was inspired by his teaching and wanted to teach everyone so I went to Haridwar for Teachers Training in 2006 and now would like to carry on this noble work for one and all and needy.

Mina Sidhu (London)

It was my life long passion for spirituality and well being which led me to visit Puttaparthi for divine darshans from Sathya Sai Baba, in 1999. What a phenomenal life changing experience this was for me; it changed my attitude towards life and renewed my commitment to work for good causes and humanity.

My first project was in helping provide education for under privileged children. Through organising many fund raising events in England; from charity balls to car boot sales and kind donations from friends and relatives, we were able to build a school in Bangalore in less than two years. It presently accomodates 60 children, they are being educated free of cost through sponsorship from many kind people from here.

During my visit to India I also came across Swami Ramdevji's Aastha Channel - I embraced his yoga teachings. Through daily practice of the pranayams I soon found a new life free of my long term ailments. I am totally cured from cervical spondelitus and 50 years of suffering from migraine. I made it my goal to visit Haridwar to attend the yoga teachers shivir. They wern't accepting any NRIs at the time, so against the odds and with much effort and good luck I managed to secure a place on the course.

This was another turning point in my life, I have made a commitment to pay back to the community and serve fellow human beings who are suffering, by teaching them Yoga from the yoga experience which Swami Ramdevji has given us.
